The 16th-century Chudow Castle is located 24 km from Katowice. Since 2001 the castle is undergoing renovation works. In the already reconstructed tower, there is a museum housing a fine collection of medieval oven tiles. Every year, on the second or third weekend in August the re-enactments of knight tournaments take place at the castle. One of the biggest attractions of this medieval festival is a fortified knights’ camp.
